Appointments
- Your own family physician looks after your routine care, follow-ups, results and ongoing concerns.
- Book online at any time, or call 506-645-8888. Online booking needs your name, date of birth and Medicare number. Our team reviews every online booking and will contact you if a different type of appointment would suit your concern better.
- Phone appointments work well for things like reviewing results. You need to have had an in-person visit in the past 12 months.
- When you book, please tell us the reason for your visit and what you hope to get from it. This helps us review your chart ahead of time and make sure the right time, staff and resources are set aside for you. If needed, it’s okay to just say it’s “personal.”
- Need an interpreter? Let us know when you book, and we’ll arrange one.
- A family member can book for you if you know about the appointment and agree to it. We can’t share your health information with them without your permission.
Same-day urgent appointments
- We keep a limited number of appointments each day for new, sudden problems that need to be seen soon, such as an infection, a rash, an injury or a flare-up of an ongoing condition.
- These are booked on the same day only. An urgent appointment booked in advance will be cancelled, and we’ll contact you to rebook.
- You may see any physician in our group. We’ll always tell you who.
- Forms, sick notes, routine check-ups and result reviews are booked as regular appointments.
Chest pain, trouble breathing or severe belly pain? Call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Department. Our clinic doesn’t have emergency testing.
Prescription renewals
- Prescriptions are renewed at an appointment, so your physician can check how the medication is working for you.
- Please book 8 weeks before you run out.
- If you take medication long term, you need to be seen in person at least once a year.
- Running low sooner than you can be seen? Your pharmacist can often provide a short supply. Our staff can also go over other options, and some may have a fee.
Cancelling an appointment
- Please give us at least 4 hours’ notice. You can leave a voicemail at any time, including after hours. You don’t need to wait to speak with someone.
- Repeated missed appointments may result in a fee.
Covering physicians and residents
- When your physician is away, another physician in our group or a covering physician (locum) may see you. All of our physicians can see your full medical record.
- We are a teaching clinic. Resident physicians are doctors completing their family medicine training. They may see you, and a family physician supervises and reviews their care.
Forms and uninsured services
- Some services aren’t covered by Medicare, including most forms, sick notes, insurance paperwork and travel health care. Fees depend on the service, and may be paid by you, your insurer or another third party.
- Before you hand in a form, please fill in every section meant for you, including your contact details and signed consent.
- Drop forms off at the clinic, or ask our staff how to email them as a PDF.
- Forms can take several weeks to complete, so please bring them in early. We can’t guarantee a deadline set by an insurer, employer or other organization.
A respectful clinic
We are committed to a safe, respectful clinic for patients, staff and physicians. Questions, concerns and feedback are always welcome. Abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour toward anyone at our clinic is not accepted.
Keeping your information up to date
- If you move or change your phone number, please update your details with New Brunswick Medicare and with our office. If Medicare doesn’t have your current address, your coverage can appear inactive even before your card expires.
- Give us a cell number to get text reminders for your appointments.
- If we have to close or open late because of weather or another unexpected event, we’ll contact patients with appointments, and our voicemail will have the latest information.
